Hey gents, it has been a long while since I posted in here. I have a question about the 25-20 conversion on the single six. How well does it perform out of a pistol?

But, it works perfectly in my experience. I've had zero issues with setback in mine. I've even deliberately left lube on cases and no setback.
That being said, revolvers are finicky sometimes. Another one just like it may give you a nervous breakdown.
Mine is on a Single Six Frame. Gary built a friend of mine's on a Blackhawk Frame. He has had no issues either.
I have multiple 25 Caliber Revolvers from Gary. Including the mentioned 25-20, 250 GNR and 256 Win Mag.

That was my major concern. I probably wouldn't run anything hotter than the equivalent of the Remington factory load. Just wanted a companion to my 1907 Marlin 1894 in 25-20.
I doubt you'd have problems. But, Gary's decision...

On a build. I like the 85/86 grn cast over 1680 in mine. Mild, quiet, accurate and effective.

I got the Blackhawk build Huey mentioned. Had Reeder do 25/20 & 256 cylinders to go with the 250 GNR cylinder. Pushed each to the max trying to get set back and have had none. I played with the old 22 jet in Smiths years ago and became very familiar with set back headaches back then. Reeders cylinders have had none and I intentionally left lube on cases trying to get set back. The revolver is exceptionally accurate. I'm totally satisfied with it
