What would be the best bullet from a .357 to use on deer?
Hard cast or JSP? Are there better caliber choices, sure there are. The .357 was around for years before the .44 and I am guessing that more than few deer were taken with it.

IMHO , 140gr XTP or Rem 140gr JHP ,

Really nice revolvers Mr. Taffin. Thank you for posting. I always enjoy the guns, the load information, and the targets. I wonder what was the range was that targets were shot.

HARD CAST FOR DEER; JHPs

IMHO GUMMY Tips (FTX) is no way to treat a critter. Practice rounds.
