This is my experience with FTX pills.

In my younger days I experimented with the .357 maximum in a 24" barreled T/C. The higher the speed the worse the accuracy compared to other bullets. I actually hit 3000 fps with slight pressure signs. I am afraid pushing that bullet would fragment on impact on an animal. Which leads me to my experience with the .308 Marlin Express and the store bought 160 grain FTX ammo. One nice 9 point at 208 yards lasered shot slightly off but still hit shoulder square. Ran off and I spent 6 hours looking for it. Ten days later a Dad and son on the lease were trapsing through a clear cut and jumped up a deer and dropped him. He managed to get up again and was finally put down. They found the deer had gangrene in the blown apart shoulder. Three days later I shot a six point at 138 yards laser ranged. Shot was slight quartering. Through the rib/lung behind shoulder. Uppon quartering the deer the bullet blew up on the off shoulder and lay in the bones, on the inside, jacket and lead had separated.

I have shot paper with 41 and 44 in Rugers and Marlins and they had great accuracy. I won't use them to hunt anymore.
