Public with fee etc. I’m pretty ignorant, only been to one indoor 100 yd. local range. It’s $17.50 per hr. But pretty nice and you can split time and the lane with a friend. I did go to another in Charleston with a buddy. It was the stores indoor 25 yd. and he paid.

My range is part of a large club with an outdoor range, an

indoor range, pin range, skeet, trap, several archery ranges along with one indoor, a black only powder area, a large clubhouse and a stocked trout pond. Costs $200 per year and a reduced fee for member over 65.

It’s pretty nice!

Boy I'd not let that lapse!

redid the indoor range ventilation system and installed no blue sky at the outdoor range. I’ve been a member since 82. We have about 2k paid members and I think it sits on 240+ acres. A nice place to shoot. BlackPete was a charter member.

Wow, 2k members @ $200 = $400k per year.!

Maybe I need to look into that! Making $1M on 240 acres in 2.5 yrs., ok so overhead and taxes, etc, say 5-7 yrs. That ain’t bad!

those of you that have ranges, be thankful

The California liberals moved in here and shut all our ranges down about 25 years ago and every time we try to open a new one they file a lawsuit and it goes to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals out of San Francisco and you know how that ends up. We have several cinder pits where we can set up targets. Even our cops have to qualify at one of the cinder pits.

Yeah but...... the insurance, politics, infighting and not

to mention the work parties, colliding agendas, experts who need to see and touch and judge the quality or purpose of every gun based on their personal preferences or who show up to take that one and only shot at most once a year to sight in their shotgun and the safety experts who can invent instant rules to save us from ourselves.... build condos, less aggravation.

I cannot imaging the strife! Gun guys are opinionated.

Also strong willed. What a headache it must be and in that part of the world too. I could not endure a drive across town where you are! lol

You could....there’s not much choice really. Just pay my due

volunteer when I can, stay out of the politics. It’s really a great club and facility. I have a crew I meet every week that are shooters, reloaders and hunters. You met Dave and Louie at past HHC events. It’s all good!

Our R&G is o n 110+ acres.

Covered benches to 200 yards(300 if you block off driveway. Archery, trap, and skeet. Cost $30 per year. My life membership after I turned 50 was $50.

attempt. We need covered benches and some backstop work. I want a berm in addition to our drums of sand. We can pretty easily do 100 and 200 yd. behind the house. However most of our shooting is at 25-30 yds. My favorite is 33 yds. since that is easy to calculate indices for scopes. (25 is too) Since most handgun shots are 50 yds. give or take that is close enough for me.

I have a bit of a problem with Roman picking up steel case military ammo. He was in the shop while I was mowing and I hit one, maybe a 7.62x54R, and it sailed 20 yds. to whack the tin about 3 ft. from him. He looked at me like I did it on purpose! lol

The range opens at 11 today for some strange reason.
