Is a short barreled .357 (2.5") really not much more than a hotly loaded or +P .38 Special due to the short barrel not burning all of the available powder? I sometimes opt to carry my 2.5" Model 19 when camping/hiking in CO and was wondering if I should move up to the 6" 586. I just don't see the need for my .44 where we typically go.
