There are no standard small pistol primers to be had in my area.
I can get some small pistol magnum primers.
Do you think it would be ok to use the magnum primers in 38 special target loads with unique powder? Or should i just keep looking for regular spp. Thanks.

that is a tuff one. I have always heard if you

go from standard to magnum primers drop your load by one grain. I have worked on that thru the years but don't know if it is the best way to go.

LAST YEAR I DECIDED TO USE UP ABOUT 5,000

MAGNUM PRIMERS I HAD FOR SEVERAL DECADES; FEDERAL 155 LPM. NO PROBLEMS WITH .44 SPECIAL OR .45 COLT. BUT I WOULD CALL THE MANUFACTURER ON THE SPM PRIMERS AND ASK THEM.
