I wanted to change it to a "shotgun" forend, the one with rubber on the sides. It has a recessed front swivel stud so it does not get your hand. But I'll have to re-tap the screw holes for the larger shotgun forend screws. Not a big deal.
I previously added weight to the forend but I think that did more harm than good. It's OK in the buttstock though. I'm only mounting a red-dot sight this time. Too many shooters got dinked, even with a 5" eye relief scope. With a few tricks you can load it up, down, to whatever you want. A fun gun.
Someday I'll add a .50 AK handgun tube to the collection as a companion to it.
