I am going out for the AM.

I've been working at home for some time which has both positive and negative sides to it.

I am so sick of the news and what is going on soooo... it is time to go in the woods for a while.

I have to make a couple of YouTube videos for my Google Classroom. In this day and age you have to do quite a bit to garner the attention of students.

Since this will be at my rod and gun club we do have some woodchucks that are running around. They made a hole near the club house and now we have a family of them.

So the plan is to take my TC Contender with the Super 16 22 lr barrel and see what a modified 22lr using Gary's flat top tool will do to the chuck.

It has been a while since I have hunted them. As a kid we had plenty of dairy farms and woodchucks to keep you out of trouble. Now. Many of those old farms are developed with housing and solar farms.

So it seems the days of long range shooting in New England are kind of gone. Now it is a rimfire game.

Anyways. I will be able to do my classroom presentation and have a chance to test out the modified 22's.

I bought a brick of Aquila Sub-sonics

I have a pending experiment with them. Performance is pretty lackluster. Someone used to market HP sub-sonic but I don’t know how much better they are. I have some GNR flat tips, some fluted bullet rounds I made, and standard. Was planning on shooting that pink soap.

This is a conventional hi-vel HP at 1000 fps (pistol) after penetrating 1.5” of treated pine.

10/22 had a faster twist to help stabilize. Never did try it, they shot fine from my Marlin 60 and standard 10/22, just minute of tin can and whatever else a boy could find to shoot in the woods. That reminds me! I still have some left from a brick I bought back when they first came out. Gonna have to load up and go visit Mom and Dad now.

Agree, like Elvis did. Just turn off and go shoot. Be well.
