The commercial pads feel almost like pencil eraser material. It's silly to pay $20 for a tin of wax or more for a can of lube when I have so much of the old conventional stuff. It will outlast me.
I'm putting a small kit together to mimic an old Skeeter Skelton article. He made a bug out kit in .357 for loading using an old Lyman 310 Tool. I can't remember if he was favoring that classic 5" M27 or a OM FT Ruger.
