win 94in 30-30
I have a winchester 94 made in 1967 for the Canadian centennial with a 24 inch octagonal barrel and a typical sight. I find that there may be a difference between classic 170 grain ammo and modern 150 grain ammo. The classic seems to have a smaller rim and feeds well from the side into the ammo tube, and into the barrel. the modern ammo does not feed at all, and I can get only one modern empty case in the feed and it doesn't feed into the barrel well. What is wrong here? I love shooting the modern ammo as it groups really well at 50 yards although I have to load them one at a time. Question 2: Is there an aperture rear sight that can be mounted to keep it near original , or a tang aperture sight, or is there a scope mount that I should use to make it more versatile? would I be wasting my time on an aperture sight at my age? (82) Is a scope mount even possible. This is a sweet shooting rifle but the feed problem is irritating.
