Minor variations in thickness are probable but diameter should match up. It is an unusual problem. I've had early 94s where the carrier supports get loose and you have to fanagle tiny screwdrivers on the inside to tighten the screws. Yours is modern era gun without that problem. Your gun should be tapped for Williams peep sight. But I might be wrong.
