so what do you prefer to stoke your home defense rifles and shotguns with? For me I use 62 grain soft points in my AR-15, #4 buckshot in my M590 Mossberg, BB size shot in the coach gun, 200 grain XTP in my 1894 Marlin
I have 115gr FM 9 am in 6 pisto loo s throughoutthe house.

grain 9mm or the 147 grain. We get some law enforcement ammo in here when they have over-runs and it is always the 124 and 147 grain. More reliable functioning in a tight pistol.
For my 45s I use 230 grain ball ammo in case a bear tries to sneak up on me.
AR-15, standard 55 grain ball.
12 gauge, I use #4 buck. OO or OOO buck is ok but the larger, heavier pellets don't disperse well and at 25 feet tend to stay in one little 12" clump. So in the dark you could easily miss the dumb shit crawling in your window. The lighter weight, smaller diameter #4 buck tends to spread out to about 3 to 4 times that group at that range. Plus I have noticed that most cops have gone to #4 buck also.
Heavy 20 guage
