Update from Charlie Herf on his daughter Allison's

fight against cancer...

Patti and i arrived back here in Arizona this past Tuesday evening.. Allie finally had her PET scan this past Saturday.. Then she had another Covid test last Sunday in preparation for her pain block procedure which finally happened this past Wednesday..She tested negative, again, thankfully, for the Covid virus.. Allie had a video appt with her med oncol this past Tuesday afternoon..He gave her the PET scan report.and Allie had more tumors than the one tumor on her liver . The PET scan showed that "all" of the tumors had significantly been decreased by the 3 eight minute radiation treatments or were barely visible !!! That was WONDERFUL news, except for the fact that Allie had not told us about the "additional" tumors in her lungs and other organs.. She didn't want us to worry...so, when she said "all" of the tumors... i asked her, "what do you mean by " ALL".. that's when she told me there were tumors she hadn't told us about..but, the GOOD NEWS is that the radiation did lessen the size and number all the tumors... Allie will have another PET scan in 6 weeks.. That scan will then determine which and how much chemo she will need to have...In the meantime, hopefully, the pain block procedure will give her some relief from the constant discomfort she has had in her lower back and left leg since she had a drain inserted in 2019 for an infection after her last surgery ..
