aperture. I have serious vision issues and that's about the only type of sight I can shoot. I prefer a post myself as I always use a closer 6 O'clock style sighting. I adjust where the bullet lands exactly atop the post. I want to see where it is going to land rather than cover it with a bead. Even with a bead I sight it in that manner. I'm used to shooting ARs, No.4 Lee's, .30 Carbine, HK, old military guns, and my Lever gun etc. which all sport larger peeps and post type front sights. But a bead is fine too since I adjust it differently.
The XS sights for leverguns that I have, the post has a white line on it. That helps in low light. I have a Rossi .45 Colt M92 stainless clone with semi-buckhorns and I just cant see them. It's front sight is on the barrel band and total crap anyway. I also have a M94 Big-bore .375 that has factory semi-buckhorns. I'm thinking Skinner rear and who knows on the front. I will need a Gunsmith to tap two holes atop the receiver by the sides of the bolt's mortise.
