Anybody here have any bad experiences with Browning rifle ammo? I usually load my own, but I picked up a new 7mm-08 and two boxes of ammo to try it out before I found some components. First box I had 7 out of 20 that did not fire. None of the primers show light strikes. I sent an email to Browning and will let you know the outcome.

if your ammo did not show light strikes

it could also be your gun. If the primers were too hard or the wrong type you would still show a slight tap or light strike. If there is no mark on the primer that means the firing pin never got to the ammo, so possibly a problem with the gun itself. Your rifle could have some gunk down in the firing pin recess, slowing the firing pin down, or there could be some solidified oil around the firing pin spring slowing it down. This is one of the reason we tell folks to keep all oil totally away from your guns. If it needs lubing a small amount of grease will be fine but never oil. Anyway, it could be the ammo but could also be your rifle.

I think you misunderstood me

When I say it did not show light strikes, I mean it shows HARD ASS DEEP STRIKES. The firing pin is knocking the ever-living hell out of these primers. It is not the gun.

in that case, you are right. It is the ammo

I had a rifle that did that, was the gun, not the ammo
