The release agent is one of those "better too much than too little" for sure. I have done some things with it that really made me look better than I am.

For micro free float you can wrap the parts with paper or aluminum sheet and it leaves a gap just that thick. But you have to slather it too in release agent. I have literally glued rifle stocks broken in half back together with it.
