Having been raised on Colt SAA's and then the early Ruger Single Actions I never took a real shine to the Ruger New Models. In my younger days I saw no real reason for them.

Having gotten a bit older and hopefully gained a little wisdom I understand more now.

And as Gary said below, they can be tuned to just as smooth as the old models. Gary proved that to me by building a few guns for me over the years, starting with one that he built for a group of us on the old sixgunner.com website.

I used it to take a nice Javelina that year.

The best thing (in my biased opinion) that Gary did for the new model was his "Set Back Trigger" ... seen here on my .41 Magnum ..

With heavy recoiling calibers like the .475 Linebaugh etc. the original trigger always took a piece of my trigger finger during recoil. Gary's trigger solved that problem. And I had him do it to my .41 just because it feels so much nicer to me.

Didn’t know that was possible

The Freedom Arms triggers are good too, just hafta use snap caps for dry fire practice.

Hey Gary, what is the cost and timeframe

the gun is in for figure around 2 weeks. If it is added in with some other things to be done to the gun, $150 but no extra time added to the work.
