My local gun shop has a Taurus blues 1911 in 9 mm for $429 the onlt problem is they have no ammo. I think the fun is a good deal but no ammo makes me hesitant. What do you all think?

I think everyone needs a 9mm 1911.

Plastic is enough for 9mm

Its *not* that I don't like the 9mm. I do. It is to the automatic pistol what the 38Special is to a revolver. However, for MY personal tastes, a Glock is pistol enough for a 9mm. I don't view spending the money for a 1911 as a reasonable expenditure. It's just too much money for an inferior round. The 9mm Glocks are as reliable as any mechanical device can be, and the price point is what I am willing to pay for a 9mm pistol.

If I was going to go with a .38 caliber in the 1911, it would be .38 Super.

I am a 45 man but if I had to I would switch to

a 9mm and not feel bad about. The old days of a 9mm being inferior are long gone. The 9mm has come along so far in the last couple of years that it holds it own against the 40 or 45. A lot of Federal agencies are going back to the 9mm and our Seals are using the Glock 19 in 9mm.

the gun is an excellent 1911. Check around on the ammo

you'll find some. Most of our local shops are out but we have 2000 rounds in stock so check around. Somebody will have it. If not today then in a few days.
