Currently have a Ruger SR1911 Commander in all steel. Great gun, but it a bit heavy for all day carry. Have been looking at a Kimber Ultra Carry II in stainless/aluminum.
It would be much lighter and a bit smaller for all day carry vs. the Ruger. I'll probably keep the Ruger, one of my boys can take it one of these days. Any opinions on the Kimber? I really like the Raptor but it gets pretty pricey.

tops as far as I am concerned. Kimber's quality this last year or two has been sorely lacking. The Ruger is a better bet. And a lot less $$.

Ruger is top notch, much better for the $.

I love my Ruger Officer 9mm, great accuracy, zero flaws in function and hundreds of rounds down range. Great handling and easy to carry, and I even own a Kimber Ultra CDP officer in 45 acp
