CCI 22 short HP, I have Long rifle, but have been picking up 5 ( thats the limit at Academy) every trip. Shoot just fine from my Marlin 39. Wish they still worked in everything like the old models. Dad had a Ted William's 22 Semi auto and I had the Winchester version for a bit, would shoot and function with S,L,LR.
Go find you an old Remington 550, still cheap

And one of the best semi-auto .22’s ever invented. It’s shoots about anything as fast as you can pull the trigger. Around 2” groups at 50 yds. With iron sights is normal. You can still find deals.
