HELLO TO ALL,Patti and i arrived back in Az. this past Monday evening..We were in San Diego for 8 days to be with Allison and do as much as we could to help her...laundry, house cleaning, gardening, painting , hanging outside lighting to brighten her yard at night time, washing and waxing her car, running errands.. etc.etc... We are always happy to be there to do these things for her as she does not have the stamina to get the mundane daily chores accomplished..Allie spends several hours each day on the phone ( mostly "on hold" ) to make her interdisciplinary medical Dr. appts as well as now having to procure another medical coverage as UCSD will no longer accept her Molina Ins..Her application for Covered Ca. BC/BS is "PENDING" ... as Gilda Radner said " it's ALWAYS SOMETHING "...Allie did have her 2nd pain block procedure while we were there and she is feeling better relief from the constant pain she has had in her lower left back and leg ( this was an outcome of the poorly placed drain she needed after one of her abdominal surgeries in 2019 resulted in an infection )... While in San Diego, Patti and i hadour second Covid test and we both tested negative . We had the antibody test a couple of months ago and we were negative as well )..I am having a delayed colonoscopy next week and his Dr. wanted him to have the Covid test . Patti wanted the test simply because of being close to Allie when we are working on things together and i wanted to be sure i wasn't asymptomatic positive ) Allie will have a PET scan in 3 weeks to determine which and how much chemo her Drs. will prescribe as not all of the tumors disappeared after her last 3 eight minute sessions of radiation...to say that Allie is ready to move on with her "new" normal life is an understatement..She is truly SICK of all the medical treatments and resulting fatigue she has experienced these past 33 months...Her mental attitude is remarkably positive despite her lengthly struggle to rid the various cancer cells from her body...so, she moves forward.. sometimes she has to surrender a day to move on and fight the next day...during our 8 days with her , she had 4 "good" days..when she needs to sleep she has learned to listen to her body and "allow" herself to rest as much as possible...we return to her at the end of July for eleven days... i know Allie would love to hear from all of you, in case you need her address it's 3429 Ray Street, San Diego, Ca., 92104..STAY WELL AND STAY SAFE... we're doing our best too !!! Thanks for your support.
