"Bug Out" vs. "Hunker Down".....

Two completely different mentalities. Most of the City Dwellers have the "Bug Out" Mentality and most of the Country/Rural Dwellers have the "Hunker Down" Mentality. Shouldn't be a big surprise to anyone.

But, it does lead to a question. When the City Dwellers decide to bug out, where do they go? To invade those who live in the country would be most ill advised. They have no way to distinguish between those escaping and those who are invading. Either way, I promise those in the country areas DID NOT go and panic buy their guns. And for the City Dwellers who read a Tactical Magazine and now believe they are prepared, well....no, they're not.

It seems likely that that 40% of new gun owners would have a false sense of preparedness. But, buying a gun, fifty rounds of ammo and a trip to a range does not prepare one for a battle with tenth generation Rednecks.

This is especially true in the south. Most know I'm from Louisiana. The butt of many jokes in Hollywood. Some well deserved, most just arrogance and self superiority rhetoric.

Anyone who has watched coverage of weather disaster has heard of the Cajun Navy. These are almost universally referred to as Uneducated Coon Asses. BTW, they don't consider that offensive. Yet, they consistently outperform the best trained rescuers ten to one. When the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard shut down from exhaustion, the Cajun Navy doesn't stop.

I feel like we will eventually see this same performance from those with true hunting skills. I'm not talking about the city boys who pay to shoot something in front of a feed bin once a year. I'm talking about the guys and gals who learned to shoot before walking good.

I'm almost 100% sure Jim will agree with this. But, what do the other Misfits think?

Too fat and too old to "bug out" . I will

Stay here until the ammunition is gone and that is going to take a good long while. However I do have a "Bug In" bag. This is a soft briefcase containing two Sig Sauer 9mms both with two 18-round magazines. Any time I have to drive somewhere this bag goes with me.

“Fill yer hand! I mean hands! Lol

I have too much ammo to carry, too much food to carry and a lake in my backyard. Ammo is expensive and limited, no warning shots will be fired.

Guns virtually illegal there, you'll be completely safe...

Have no trouble believing that. I'm willing to bet that The Misfits are some of the best prepared for anything.

So I answered that I had two hands, duh. I've always practiced shooting with different hands. Even a minor injury could disabled one arm or hand.

right on about that Huey, every type of shooting

Run where? To what? Besides, if you run you'll miss out on the reckoning. I don't want to miss the reckoning. Thank God the Founders didn't bug out. I just won't betray them.

I`m in the same boat, however, I have a backback

the local women who buy "self defense" 9 mm auto's based on the color, now available in pinks, blues, purples and every color in between. When asked if they have had any training or do you shoot often, it usually boils down to the amount of fire required to obtain their carry permits. Scary , very scary, in most cases I would guess they are more likely to cause damage to themselves or their loved one before doing damage to the bad guy.
Personally, being the peace loving, hippie, liberal wanta be, I only read this forum for WB's satire LOL

Huey, I hope you don’t just blast
