I know there’s a lot of political crap going on with Covid, but please take it seriously.

What does this mean?

Passing the lightning jug don’t count, self sterilizing. I have not done bong hits since college. We are just fine.

Stop watching the "news" about it.

States are conveniently showing the biggest increase of numbers according to the news.

The problem is those in the south take freedom seriously. As unemployment numbers dropped, magically Covid cases went up.

I think we all need masks with "TRUMP 2020" on them. In two days I'd wager masks would not be needed.

I've seen some arrogant posts, but this deserves a prize.

It's a facinating socical experiment

and regionally differing. As Jim mentioned. The Arkansas Governor just took it upon himself to come up with some form of mandate. To play devil's advocate it seems other states have "deep state" operatives managing to skew data for varied reasons but at minimum it is instilling fear in weak minds. Maybe that has happened here in the political realm.

He may have caved to bad data, but the ramifications must be dealt with. He totally ruined his political career. Except for lobbying, where most like him retire. I have seen at least a half-dozen published letters by county sheriff's publicly stating they are blatantly ignoring the mandate. Some much more direct than others (!) but the end game is the same. You can look it up yourself, they have bigger fish to fry. Literally County Sheriff's and Game Wardens are the top law in any local, around here anyway. So that deal is done.

Shockingly this has enraged many loonies! Their comments are akin to Marxist revolutionaries, only thinly veiled, and perhaps accidental or programed by watching TV. Some things will just not float down here. It's gonna be interesting.

Agree. The facts change every day...

And it's not a regional, racial or any other sector event.

I'm all for safety and prevention, but either the leaders are very confused or playing games.

It's bad when people get sick or worse. But, doesn't matter which way the compass points.

I'm with Jim on not watching the news. Just election year propaganda these days.

As Gary ran polls ,is close to 60 years old . With being around that long folks get ornery and accumulate various health problems. My active, but not without health problems, brother-in-law was diagnosed with COVID-19 and this morning was put on a ventilator. This all happened within a week. He’s on the west coast of Fla. where up until a short while ago had next to zero cases. Family up here on Long Island went through the extreme cases, masks ,gloves with hospitals jammed. While his area was not seeing the cases we had. Months go by folks feel it missed them ,but it burning up the south now. Rick Simms please take note. So please say a prayer for my bro! Take care Misfits!

Sorry to hear that. I have lost family members ..

older ones who had underlying serious issues. I also had family members who got it, tested positive, and were slightly ill for a couple days.

These personal things make it more "real" ... but it does not indicate that what the "news" says about it is real. When you research what has been happening in Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Iceland, Japan it makes you wonder what is going on.

Sorry JK, I appreciate your concern.

I'm certainly no MD but ventilation is a very serious process. Many times it kills folks and needs to be an absolute last resort when no other means is viable. My research seems to insinuate that they are sometimes suspected of being utilized improperly in reaction to late situations. Of course it depends on how far progressed disease is, often it IS the last resort. We need to educate ourselves and be advocates for our loved ones. Doctors don't know everything and are flawed like the rest of us. If it pisses one off but saves your family member wouldn't you give it a try? Make them at least pause and think.

We will certainly pray for your kin.

Thanks WB . As I prefaced the original

Post that there is political crap associated with covid. It hit home this morning and I was just trying to give a heads up how hard it hit up here and now seems to be affecting the south. As you can see the posts commenting on my post were mainly political. Even the preachers first comment was to stop watching the news..... so I hope every one stays healthy. But I’m done here.

Thanks but I haven't been a "preacher" in a long time! When I share my personal opinions I hope it is not taken as preaching for I certainly don't want to put words in Papa God's mouth.

I am just as wrong and in the dark as everyone else and don't mean for people to take what I say as Gospel.

As the apostle said, "Test everything. Hold on to what is good."

What you'all need is a translator, yankee to southern or yankee to grit! Although I am yankee born I have lived in southern states or have been stationed there a good part of my life. I digress. To a New Yorker or New Jersey resident, the "South" is Florida. Recently the South includes North Carolina to New Yorkers as land is cheap and living is inexpensive, and they flocked to Cary, Created And Ready for Yankees, and Charlotte and Ashville, where they brought their politics with them and elected, G-d help us, Democrats. Anyway, South Florida on the East coast is largely Democrat as well as most of NYC had retired there. The West coast is where the conservatives have normally drifted to from conservative parts of NYC, as Staten Island and Long Island. The older conservative Cubans were in Miami-Dade, but are now outnumbered by the NYC expats in Miami Beach.
I have a portion of my extended family that lives in Texas, Kansas City, and
Alabama where my cousin started a dairy with a bicycle delivery. When I asked him how he picked LA, as we used to call Lower Alabama, he said that was where the wagon threw a wheel. I never really knew if he was serious.

The only person I know is a 90 year old

I pray your brother gets better soon. As an emr most of my brethren do not take this all that seriously, even though I am in good shape I am 67 and I take it serously. Masks, distance, wash hands, and gloves on calls or as needed
