I ended up with 2 from NRA banquet , they are awesome work every time with any ammo. It's my lunch box gun, and hot weather carry. I have shot jack rabbits on the head at 30 yds and can hit 8 inch plate at 60 yds

Some of the fluted bullet ammo sure does more damage than I expected.
I have two values...

They are importing a whole bunch of foreign police Beretta .380's and .32s right now. I forget the model number but they used to call them Cheetah. they are medium size autos with dual stack mags, 12-shot. If you have anyone recoil sensitive you sure could do worse. They are blow back action, not locked breach so much less complicated mechanisms. I was looking at a .32 ACP for myself. A fine little .30 cal. gun to play with.
The other is Taurus. They make a pocket .380 that is good as any. It's usually noticeable less than Ruger if price is a sensitive issue. I've seen several from $125-150 in gun stores. I personally like the little Kel-Tec .32 and .380 also. Inexpensive, American made, simple, and they work.
Just some alternatives to the "me too" Ruger LCP.

Perhaps the most evolved .380 are the CZ82 and 83 models. DA/SA with cocked with locked capability and double-stack magazines. Discontinued some years ago but still available pre-owned. They are made of made of steel, rugged, and as reliable as a hammer. Uses the Walther PP/PPK system for disassembly.
CZ83 was also available in .32ACP. Mine is 15 shot capacity though mags are tougher to find. Again, all steel and has the recoil of a desk stapler. Higher visibility fiber optic front sights available if you look online.
Beretta 86 in .380 had the tilt-up barrel, ala smaller caliber models 950, 21A, and 3032. Great for folks with issues racking slides to chamber a round.
Beretta 84 was double-stack and 85 was single stack.
Beretta 81 was .32 ACP. A few months ago several online surplus gun retailers were pushing them hard.

Each have different pros and cons w.r.t. to trigger action and manual safety.
These two models offer a bit of versatility in that you can find 9x18 Makarov replacement barrels for them.
With ammo supplies rather tight right now, it might be a consideration.
My two favorite 380's

First is the Ruger LCP Custom. Like a regular LCP but comes from the factory with usable, drift adjustable sights, not the tiny little nubs of the regular LCP. The LCP Custom has a bright red trigger, so you can easily spot it besides the sights. The LCP is perfectly reliable, and at 10 ounces I just drop it in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster and never even know it's there..
The second is the Springfield Armory 911. It is single action only, so cocked and locked carry. Mine has the outstanding night sights that are amazing in the daylight too. Very accurate little gun and at 12 ounces, it too goes in a pocket holster and carries without a problem... Just always there...
