I pulled up to the house yesterday and my wife was heading to the chicken coop with her pistol. She turned and came to me and said will you kill the snake on the nesting box in the chicken house. So, I go in there and a 5' 8" Rat Snake is on top with a bulge in its body from eating eggs. It was striking at me, so I used a rake and pulled him off and on the floor and stepped on him and grabbed his tail and threw him out and shot him it the head.

A good while. Even the cheap Long Rifle ammo works great after a pass thru the Flattop Tool.

which is why I made the spear. You don't have to get as close as you need to with a machete. With deadly snakes that's always a worry.

I had a .357 mag in the truck. Around the house I carry a Bearcat or Super Single Six but I hadn't even changed clothes. yet. She wanted that damn snake out of her hen house now. The snake already ate one of her eggs. If I'd been 5 minutes later she would have went full on John Dillinger and I would of had to patch the coop and the laying boxes not to mention still having to kill the snake because she missed. LOL
