When I was 8 my Dad was shooting an old 32 H&R in the basement. One shot hit the 4x4 post and bounced back and hit me in the leg. Barely bruised it but sure scared me. Been afraid of 32's ever since!
Back in the 1980's I loaded some 45 Colt's with a Lyman 310 Tool. They were light loads and I wanted to test 'em so I stuck one in the gun, stepped out on the porch in my bare feet and fired a shot into my firewood stacked on the porch. I shot into the end grain and the 255 gr. round nose turned in the grain and came back and whacked me on the end of the big toe! Raised a blood blister.
Ammo can get ya!
I hope your toe recovers.
