Complicated topic

Since the industrial revolution, but especially since the boom in the plastics industry, there have been so many chemicals floating around in the environment it has become nearly impossible to study any one in an isolated, human system. This is why the dangers of each are largely based on imperfect animal models.

Autism is multifactorial and sets in well before school age, so no there's no concern disinfectant sprays could cause Autism. Other long term effects like cancer, respiratory issues, or cognitive issues: there's no known link, but that's subject so change I'm sure.

Another thing: let's pretend you can be certain a chemical isn't harmful to a person. You still don't know how that chemical will react with other chemicals in the environment and what their interaction will generate. That's a common concern with Ozone generators. So will the disinfectant used interact with the glue in some textbook's binding and release something undesirable? I think it's clear to see how complicated the topic becomes. VERY hard to study, environmental exposures.
