My Grandfather was half Indian and said to be a pattern drunk. Later in life he knew to stay away from it. His son, my father, became an alcoholic. This caused my family great grief and eventually ended in divorce, and alcohol induced dementia. Yeah, I learned, and my children saw the trouble it caused. It's not for us. His passing in 2004 began the legal difficulty I have been struggling with ever since, it was systemic. It's just now beginning to end.
One of the worst conversations I've ever had was telling my father I was taking his keys, he could not drive anymore.
