I made the trip from our place in Texas to my daughter's in Oklahoma on Saturday. Had a nice uneventful trip. As I was getting near to her place I decided I would stop and fill up the tank and eventually came to a little old-timey station on the side of the road.

Driving in I found the gas pumps to be "old-timey" also. No digital crap on them anyplace except the gallons and the price. I asked a guy who was getting gas, "Can I use a credit card here?" and he said I would have to go inside.

So I walked in and this older gentleman was behind the counter. I told him I would like to fill up my tank and could I use cash? He said, "Sure." I asked him if he needed my ID or something and he said, "Are you going to drive off without paying?" I said, "No sir." He said, "This is one business in America where you are still treated like an honest citizen unless you prove otherwise."

It was so refreshing. Like stepping back in time 30 years. I thanked him for his amazing attitude.

Not sure about other places but folks here are acting like life is normal .. no masks .. no crap about virus's ... friendly .. and gunfire! People shooting in their back yards, having fun.

Some of my grandkids came up yesterday and we spent a couple hours shooting in the back yard where I set up a shooting range last March. I am building some more shooting tables and some target stands to add to the range.

Weather is amazing. It was 105 in Texas. It's 88 here today for a high and in low 60's at night. I am enjoying it.

I'm down by Norman, Ok where they just recalled the mayor and some council members over there commie ways, it was great! The town where I'm closest doesn't have a mask rule so I'm thankful of that and any business that does have one I won't go in. I've lived here all my life and its a pretty laid back place compared to othere's but like in Norman it only takes a few liberal type's to ruin it for everyone, so hopefully with these people getting removed it will send a message.

Yeah .. my son in law told me about Norman.

That was great to see people do that. Need to do that in more places.

it would be great to see that happen, it took money and a lot of effort but I think they collected over 20,000 signatures in 30 days to get the mayor removed

Yep, still a few good places here. Sadly some of my favorite
