#3s are through the roof in original condition.

Other stuff is worth what someone will pay.

Wish Ruger would still make the #3s

first came out. The first batch was chambered in 22 Hornet 30-40 and 45-70. The people that we sold them to bitched about the recoil in the 30-40 and 45-70 bashing their knuckles with that ungainly lever. The 22 Hornet didn't have the range for groundhog hunting, nor the killing power. Later they brought out the 223, 44 mag and 375 Winchester but the gun had sort of a bad rap by then and we had a hard time selling them.

Our dist. in Nashville had 20 of the 30-40 Krags left over that they couldn't sell and made me a great price on them if I would buy all of them. I thought it over for a day or two and then decided to do it. At the time I had a rifle in 300 H&H that I liked so I ordered a reamer and a bunch of butt pads and when the guns came in we rechambered them one at a time to 300 H&H, added a pad, marked them limited edition, one of 20, and put our deluxe bluing on them and turned them into a short range carbine with long range capabilities. After we did each one I said I was going to keep the next one and as typical I never did. I still wish I had kept one.

I've got several including a 30-40 Krag...

Shoots great and recoil isn't bad. I loaded my #3 45-70 heavy with 405 grn Remington Bullets ONCE!!!

Will never make that mistake again. It's not bad with 300 grn factory ammo.

I would like a 300H&H as I have a bunch of brass

(several hundred pcs.) and dies. I bought a collection pieces from the widow of a fellow that was once the NY State standing rifle champ using the 300. Have not figured out what to do with the brass other than buy a gun.

Darryl, Lipsey's has Ruger #1s in 300 H&H this year...

Every year they do a few limited runs. This year it's the 300 H&H and 275 Rigby.

without seeing it, I really can't say. It is

obviously a custom rifle and being so there could be a lot of problems possible with it. Not saying it has any problems at all but it is a custom gun. If the wood to metal fit is the way it should be and the barrel work was done right and the brass comes out easy and with no scratches or marks on it, then in theory it could be a $1500 gun. But not being able to see it, that is just a guess. It could be worth more or it could be a $500 rifle.

If you are selling it,

it is worth what the seller will give you for it.

I have one in great shape, less then a box through it with a original Redfield 6x18 scope in it. I might let it go for a good price. Gary already told me what it is worth,
