Today's foreign made guns....

I hate to post this, but at the end of the day truth is solid. It's biggest enemy seems the media.

Like most Americans, I've tweaked my defense gun situation since the first of the year. Far from an authority on defense guns, I maintain my ability to recognize quality.

Every single gun I've bought has been foreign made. The Canik from Turkey, Springfield XDM from Croatia and a few Taurus Guns from Brazil.

At the same time, I've passed on several domestic guns simply because of the poor machine work and fitting. Not saying they weren't perfectly functional guns, just not the quality I like to spend money on.

Again yesterday with Miroku Winchester, I was stunned by the quality. There are no finer bolt action guns than the CZs and so on.

I have to give Ruger some kudos. I bought the new M77 and #1, both in 275 Rigby. Quality is top notch.

Domestic Winchesters seem long gone. Remington isn't exactly inspiring confidence as an understatement. Looked at two very expensive revolvers from two separate domestic companies that used to be known for top quality products. These guns were shameful. One was over $1k and barrel gap varied between .011-.013" over each chamber.

This all being said, everybody can buy what they want. But, hope everyone remembers what has happened to American Industry come November. We could use another four years of reviving American Manufacturing Pride. Certainly looks like we need it.

I can't argue with the Lipsey's Rugers with one exception...

I've got a Single Six 32 Magnum that won't function most of the time. Got it at cost for a base gun, so no big deal.

Uberti is a rock star in my book. All of mine have been tops.

At one time I would not buy a gun or vehicle not built in the USA. Not the case anymore.

Still drive Ford Trucks and very brand loyal. GM and Chrysler got in bed with Obama, so those are out forever.

Today I vote conservative and buy quality. But, I'd love to see American Manufacturing Quality what it used to be.

My Walther PPS M2 is fully equal to my HK VP9 in quality.

At just about half the price.

It carries so well that I've taken a nap with it on in a Crossbreed Supertuck.
