Just looking over the Reeder cartridge list...saw this one. It says based on the 260 Rem case...but I guess you could always use 243 W cases. At any rate, seems intriguing.
I always though of the 25 caliber as more of a varmint/small-bodied deer/hog caliber than the 6.5, and why shoot the 6.5 when you can have a .277, or is my logic off? Never really gave the 6.5/.264 any real consideration. What niche does it fill, what itch does it scratch, when compared to the 25? Seems the 25 bullets are better suited to explosive performance and the 6.5/270 better for deep penetration/ heavier game.

the 260 Remington is a better case for various reasons. The

257 Firecat is a cartridge I developed for the AR-15. It has been tested and works fine in an AR but Hornady is so far behind on our custom dies that I put the 257 Firecat and the 366 Firecat on hold for right now. The 366 Firecat is based on the 308 case and works fine in the AR-10. On both we have to build the barrels from scratch which means it is a lengthy process and again we are so far behind I can't spare the time to build them. Hopefully soon.
