Don't forget a box of 16p nails! You can have them on your front seat anywhere in the country. I do like a good paracord lanyard. Just in case you get one stuck in something. So versatile and handy, to fit any budget.

Probably better than a knife, because a knife can get stuck in bone...

useful? Or maybe anything a normal human being would own and carry in their vehicle. If I am not mistaken both those "weapons" you mentioned require you to be within about 2 feet from the subject. Maybe you like being close and snuggly but I think about 25 yards is my limit on zombies, wampus cats or any other hooligans. And here in Arizona we can have anything we feel comfy with on the seat beside us. And in a month when Kase and I head for the HHC, you can bet your blue suede shoes we will have items other than a hammer and steel brush with us.
Many places (NYC, Chicago) only illegal goons have guns.

Someone is in your face, or more likely multiples and you have no true weapon, it's run what you brung. Say a sudden car jacking attempt.
I remember a serial killer to slipped into a dorm and took out several with a stick of wood. Had it not been for some "teeth" marks he might have gotten away with it!
A good framing hammer makes for a formidable and suitable modern war club that has been quite adequate for hand to hand combat since Cain clodded Able!
well, you can bet your little sister's black cat's

ass that we won't be anywhere near NY, Chicago, or Compton. If the pucky hits the fan we will sit it out with loaded guns and dogs to let us know if someone is anywhere near the house. If we have to go out somewhere you can bet there will be a couple of AR-15s along with Colleen's AR-10 somewhere withing reach in that vehicle. Along with a handgun or 4.
I know that there are good people that carry in NYC, they

big white whale, her cargo van. It holds 15 people or 7 fat girls and a poodle. We have a couple of guys in this area that say they want to go to the HHC and hunt, so I guess we shall see. If not it will be Kase and I.

It don't work anywhere near as good as pepper spray. Use what works.
Wasp spray is basically liquid soap.

It is quite formidable. But if a Cop found it in your car, you'd have some fancy talking to do or he would leave with it. But a 19 oz. Eastwing leather framing hammer?! You can tear an entire house down with it! It might take a while, but you could do it if you stayed after it. lol
