It's obviously rough on the platform but for hunting applications it will manage it. That plastic frame flexes and wallows where aluminum or steel is stressed. It's odd how something with a little give can absorb more, spreads the forces out.
Factory 10mm is very whimpy these days except for Underwood, DoubleTapp, specialty loads etc. Many don't look past 200 gr. bullets but with cast you can do 220/230 gr. THAT is a hammer, plus you have the 6" fixed breach barrel too. Heck I get 1000 fps not trying with 180-200 gr. in .40 S&W cast loads, duplicating the .38-40 Cowboy.
Longshot is a fantastic 10mm powder as is AA#7. The Glock is far superior in "feeding" odd bullet shapes compared to the 1911 that can be very finicky. At least from what I'm seeing. You just have to get past that funky trigger. I tend to pull left with all Glocks unless I really use trigger discipline. Some of those fancy trigger systems are truly better, the ZEV is a nice but expensive one.
