While I'd love to play with the heel bullet in the LR I think the .22 WMR kit has lots more validity. I think I'd probably try that for my money. With those tools I think one could make or adapt the technique to the .17 HMR too using commercial .17 bullets.

It looks like great fun just to see if you can do it. Painting and coating those projectiles would be a huge advantage too. No gooey external lube to collect pocket lint, and it shoot so much cleaner. I passed on a deal for a super sweet 1903 Winchester .22 Auto due to the unavailability of the special ammo. It's basically a .22 WMR shortened to .22 LR specs. using a lead bullet. That kit could supply the ammo. Not very practically though. Ditto for the .22 Winchester Special.

Maybe I’m just strange but sometimes

When I have a little anxiety I find keeping my hands busy with a diversion, a productive one, really helps! Here I manufactured a $50 box of .357 Mag. Cartridges! Lol It’s not about production output but personal satisfaction. I find it wonderfully just fun!

I loaded some .44 Specials with my 310 Tool last month.

22 LR or 22 Mag?

But I will get one to play with.

An amn could make some of the tools but not for $80 time

That heel bullet mould is unique. I've wanted to try some casting of airgun pellets but I've got a wagon filled high as it is. Sounds like fun!

I never thought it ironing out the "dent" in a rimmed cartridge. Certainly the .22 WMR would be a more difficult task to do so. Thicker rim material? Maybe not.
