For a while I have had this

rash on my hand. I know it is from detergent and sanitizer. While hunting I remembered what an old Indian friend told me about the magic of balsam sap.

The balsam tree is a coniferous tree found in northern New England as well as the Adirondacks and Canada. I am sure it is found elsewhere.

The bark has small bubbles that you can pop and then smear on a cut. It is like natures liquid bandage. I found it helped out immensely with my rash.

Just more woodsman info. [image]

Does it seem to be working?

Now I have to do a special hunt just for balsam sap. I may have to collect it in a tin and keep it for that purpose. It seems that this damned thing won't go away.

Had the same thing years ago. Now

Don’t use any soap that has anything in it but oatmeal. No laundry soap that has anything added to it. Just pure plain unscented soaps work for me.

Cool. I also like Tea Tree oil for such issues.

Problem. Unless it is a synthetic scent only. Real lavender oil can also be used a s a treatment for cuts rashes and even burns. When we go on vacation to the beach my wife adds a bottle of 100% lavender oil to her bag in case of sunburn. Works too.

However you could be allergic. My wife enjoys studying natural healing. We practice it when practical. I have not found any that we have tried to do any harm. But that is our experience.

I hope to read a bear hunt story soon!

My wife is into those natural oils too

I was driving long distance and was getting a little punchy. She has this 2" thick spiral book with all sorts of ailments and problems and it tells the corresponding oil or combination that is a remedy. Lavender was the opposite, calming and help sleep!

Peppermint oil! It said to dab a bit on the finger and smear on the center of the forehead between the eyes. So that's what she did running 75 mph down the highway. Dang! It made my eyes burn and tear! I began to fight to have at least one eye functioning and wiping away tears. While being VERY careful NOT to get that crap in my actual eyes! When she first put it on it was very cool and soothing, then it began to warm up. It did not stop warming up and got very uncomfortable and burning! Being an oil it soaked into my skin and would not wipe off. It was quite an ordeal that lasted at least an hour overall. But you know, it did exactly what it said it would do. I was hoot owl wide awake! Drove another 200 miles.

Be care what you scratch after use too!
