I just bought a ruger Bisley in .41 magnum. It is a 7.5 inch barreled gun. It was drilled and tapped for scope mount a weigand picatiny rail but the price was right. It has no rear sight so I will have to source one if I want to shoot open sights. It does not appear that the gun was shot very much. Does anyone have suggestions on a factory loading?

but for whitetail or mulies you really don't need the overbore power of those two. Any good Remington, Federal, Winchester JSP will do fine for them and a lot less stress on you and the gun. Try a box or two and see which one works best in your 41.
I agree with Gary.

I have shot quite a few deer with the .41 Magnum. Some pigs. 6 or 7 Javelina. One elk. Put the bullet in the right place and it is all over.

likely big blast -- less recoil-- When Rem had a 170 gr factory load it performed about like this
I wouldn't recommend Buffalo Bore to a Liberal...

by golly it is hotter than a $2 pistol though. Flattened primers. Reminds me of the old Winchester .44 Magnums. Ammo companies used to load some hot ammo that was highly sought. Norma had some dandy stuff too.
I remember in the 1990's I had some Hornady .475 Linebaugh with listed velocities. A couple years later they dropped the same ammo 100 fps. Liability concerns or maybe customer service complaints?
Whatever Buffalo Bore says on the box, what I've tested, that's what she runs. Cratered primers be damned.
