We would watch the gun shows and call each other when we heard something totally wrong. Today I watched one and heard Elmer Keith developed the .44 Magnum cartridge and took it to Remington to produce. Then they said the .44 Magnum was the most powerful round until 1998 when Ruger and Taurus brought out the .454. Sigh!

Yep .. I have about given up reading online about guns ...

such silly stuff is written .. bullets tumbling in flight .. guns that shoot flat to 1000 yards ... and people that can't or won't spell 'bullets' properly. Not that my spelling is so excellent, but c'mon!

I'm a bit different, which will surprise nobody. But...

I reload, experiment and shoot by myself 99% of the time. I do enjoy posting about some stuff and sure enjoy reading other's posts on here and Lee Martin's Forum.

People like Scotty and I catch Holy Hell. But, at least we cut thru the B.S. and do real stuff.

The days of reading honest reviews, load data, etc are gone. I stay in trouble for saying it, but can live with that.

Phil Sharpe is still my hero with Ken Waters hot on his hills. Phil hated the 25-20 WCF, which is my #1 cartridge. But, at least he had the backbone to stand up for what he thought.

Today, everything that comes out is universally praised in the media. It doesn't matter what kind of junk it is.

Heels, still loving auto correct...

I’ve often wondered why Mr. Taffin doesn’t get junk

I think I have it figured, he DOES, he just doesn’t write about them! That makes sense. If he’s not tested it and written an article you might really look close at it, if you’d thought he’d typically go for it.

THAT IS TRUE!

I find that if JT or Brian Pearce likes the load it will more than likely work for me.

Agree on load data and love Handloader Magazine..

Just not so much on reviews. On that, I'll have to agree with Jim. Of course, to each their own.
