.. that would have severely limited Firearms transfers in Illinois, but what have kept in state manufacturers exempt for the law.

whenever a gun writer or reporter would call his Mini 14 an "assault rifle" Bill would go bonkers. So that would make sense of his being for magazine capacity regulations.
On the other hand S&W has been so wishy washy thru the years going back to when they were owned by various companies in the early to mid 80s. I still love my S&Ws but can't stand their inability to stand up for themselves and their company.
