I was at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham the last two days for tests and appointments. The governer has had an indoor mask requirement for a while now but I noticed all the medical staff were wearing them even when outside walking on the streets or going from building to building. I asked my cardiovascular surgeon about it and he said they've had cases of covid that were contracted, more likely than not, by outdoor exposure. I will be glad when they have a vaccine and working meds.

They have me scheduled for surgery on the 15th of October and I've been told to isolate at home until then and have to go up the day before surgery for their lab to run a covid test on me. They did one Tuesday before my procedure yesterday. They wkn't do any invasive procedure without a negative covid test on a patient within 48 hours before the procedure!

I’m not sure what to say...

Medical professionals are taking the use of masks seriously. I did notice too that inside the hospital and labs they all doubled up wearing two masks, one over the other. If they are taking it seriously they are basing their decision on more than just scientific theory in contrary to all these conspiracy theorists.

If it makes you feel better go for it.

I don't influence my behavior much on what others do without much personal research. I have many MD who are friends, smart guys in their very narrow specific fields. My buddy who I'm thinking about right now has been an MD for 20 yrs. The silly SOB can't change his own spark plugs in his Harley. It's hilarious, he's dangerous with tools. Pretty scary as a motorcyclist too. lol
