I'm not looking to drill and tap the new Winchester 1892. But, feel like and improved rear sight is in order. The sight pictured below interests me quite a lot.

What is the opinion and any experience on these?

Should already be drilled an tapped for a tang sight, Lyman or Marbles. . . that one you posted is likely to be too far from your eye to be of any real use.
your mileage may vary

New Winchester 1892 has a tang safety...

Personally I never liked the tang sight on a levergun.

I’ve shot 336’s with Skinner sights. Loved them!

I have a 450Marlin 1895MR and been thinking the sight might work well on it. Would really like to see a sight set up like those on a M14/M1A!

Found what you need

Picked it up off of a Cowboy action shooter, already installed, I found it nice for quick short shots, havent tried much further than 25 yds yet, the small ring may be too large for any accuracy work? Seems more like a ghost ring than an aperture.

friend has one on a 44 mag Winoku 92. Its

ok. Without a real aperture sight I like to use the 2nd notch or shelf or whatever on a buckhorn. Easier for me to line up than the fine bottom notch. Try the bullseye and you can always switch back. Also, a 3/32 bead (even fiber optic if you like) may help. Never know until you try...

Chris, I agree...

a Skinner peep with an ivory 1/16 bead front on my Mountie, and a Skinner peep with a 3/32 white bead on my 357 1894. Not sure I've found the perfect setup for the 1894 yet...The combo on the Mountie is perfect though.
