of sitting at the Drive-in awaiting the start of the movie when my friend Dwayne Pasley rolled up in his old primered 68 Chevelle and "Panama", VH with David Lee Roth, blasting through the Pioneer 6x9" speakers visible on the back deck in his rear window. He came to a stop and produced a white frisbee from beneath his front seat... Those were the days for me.
I never got to see Van Halen with David Lee Roth

I saw them with Sammy and Eddie just killed it. Midway through when the band was taking breaks one at a time Eddie just closed his eyes and went off.. I honestly think he forgot about the crowd and was just in a stream of consciousness auto pilot mode. It was a special moment. It might have lasted two minutes.. I don't know. It felt like a long time though.
Still, damn shame I never saw them with David Lee Roth. He gets a bad rep as a crazy person. He is intense. But the guy just knows a lot about music and putting songs together. I've watch some interviews with him and came away with a totally different opinion.
Why do Rock groups make the best music

when they all hate each other? Seem to have creative energy along with personal drama? Mama's & Papa's, Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen etc. Drug use and flawed characters seem to collide, a falling star burns brightest.
