*Lyman cast bullet handbook- Some .380 are blow back operated such as Walther’s and such, invoking some caution and restraint. Others like SIG, Glock, Kahr are locked breach and more suited to some variables in loading. Blow back guns change in dynamics with bullet weights. FWIW

I’d not hesitate to use this data with 124 gr. cast bullets as a foundation to work up some loads. I have never loaded .380 nor have dies. I am thinking of trying with .38 Special dies which are very close, just to see. Maybe use the Luger to seat if it’s needed. I garnered some .380 brass at HHC so it’s on!

shooting them in a SIG. They were cast fairly hard. Velocity was a bit over 900 fps if I remember correctly. I do know they penetrated a Police car.

Everyone I’d freaked about “.380” projectiles

The nominal 90-95 gr. The bullets are sky high and moulds about 2x retail! The point is you can use regular 9mm Luger spec. cast bullets to load .380 ACP.

Luckily 100 rnds. of .380 go a long way.

Glad you guys enjoy reloading 380's -- I do it from time to time but not fun for me

For $40/50 I'll try my hand at it.

with the County Sheriff's Dept. He carried the 380 as a backup gun.

He was riding with his Sgt. one day and they were talking about backup guns. When he mentioned his 380 with a 15 round magazine, the Sgt. wanted to see it.

My friend pulled it out and was messing with it and fired a shot through the floorboard of the car. At the shot the Sgt. who was driving hit the brakes, skidded the car to a stop and started beating my friend with his hat, yelling at him.

After it all calmed down they pulled the floor pads and found it went through the removable rubber mat, the factory flooring, and the metal floor and exited into the road someplace.

Examining the hole, the Sgt. decided he wanted some of those for his gun!

Thanks for posting

I have some 124gr plated fp bullets. In a S&W EZ I have found that I can seat bullets a little longer than other guns. I’ll give it a try.
