Just talked to Gary and discussed the parts shortage. Looks like my plans will change.

Was going to build a SRH 38-40, but lack of available parts changed my plans.

Sent Gary a SRH 10mm for the conversion. So, Plan B came easy. The factory cylinder will be rechambered to 10mm and the barrel gap set for .002".

I'll add some nice grips, sights and TK Clips and not look back. Being able to use heavy bullets seated long, crimping because will headspace on the clips and loading for SRH pressure will make this an interesting choice.

BTW, 2020 SUCKS!!!

There’s just something about a 38-40

It’s just a Classic American Western cartridge

My favorite over 32 Caliber Revolver Cartridge...

For the handloader it's the most underrated cartridge available.

Just added another 38-40 to the collection

It was a 40/10mm, reamed the 40 out to 38-40, and made it a Bisley. [image]

I did the exact same thing...

Either it's the most accurate Blackhawk I own or I just shoot it best. Either way it's awesome.

I shoot the 200 grn GT HP Bullets at 1400 fps over 2400 Powder in mine.

I’m playing with 2400 and HS6

I have a SP101 in .32 H&R, I've thought

of lengthening the chambers a bit to allow more versatility with brass. I know many manufacturers seem to have had issues with the .327 or something, they dropped several offerings (S&W ?).

What are your thoughts?

IMHO, The best factory 32 Caliber ever..

I'm ashamed to admit how many 327s I own. From a Custom Bearcat to a Henry Lever Action.

I have the SP-101 4.2" Adjustable Sight. It's a dandy of a carry gun. Gun weighs less and accepts longer loaded rounds than a S7.

I usually don;t load the .327 that hot anyway.

Typically I opt for a heavier bullet, sometimes 120 gr. But I try to avoid the magnum blast. I can re-chamber the little SP easily and have cross-over ammo with some others. I love the little .32-20 but the versatility of that .327 straight wall chamber it just too good to pass up.

I had Gary make a .327 Fed. cylinder for my .300 GNR too. An outrageous fun package with too many possibilities.

Try Longshot Powder, best of both Worlds...
