OK, now what guns do you regret selling or trading off?

And thanks to RonE below for the idea. My list of guns traded off or sold would fill up this page but to start with ..a few years back we built 100 stainless Lugers. The first one was the prototype and was serial number REEDER 1. At a custom show it was on display and a fellow who happened to be Ed Sullivan's brother came up to the table and was looking at it. You young guys probably won't know who Ed Sullivan was. Anyway I told him it was a display gun and not for sale. he kept coming back to the table and asking what would I sell it for if I did sell it. I hit him with a price that would have bought 4 of the guns. Unfortunately he had that amount in cash in his wallet. I had made him a price so I had to stick with it. And the stainless Luger went away.

There were dozens of others that I regret selling or trading and I may throw another on here in a bit. But what gun do you regret selling?

without selling. I decided to take it off on a Sunday morning and a full price offer came in from Texas that morning. Other than that one, I regret every one that I sold.

The Super Blackhawk was serial #41... Bill Ruger gave Jack O`Conner serial #20.... The Auto Mag had a scoped 44 barrel along with a pencil type 357AM barrel.. However, I have to say they went to pay for an Alaskan brown bear/moose hunt that was successful... I thank God I had them to sell...

As a young guy going to school and working I formed a coop hunting unit with my fellow engineering students and I bought a 1903A3 and they bought the ammo and we hunted together to survive. My first pistol was a war trophy walther p38, with peeling chrome, but buy could it shoot! traded them for others and finally traded my way to 2 Winchester 73s in 38-40 which I traded for a 1938 luger from Simson and Co in Shul which I traded for a Spenser Carbine unfired in the original wood box which I eventually sold because I could not find ammunition for it at the time and lost my entire collection to a broker who sold it for a really good price and he invested it in land. Slowed me down for a good bit, but I learned a lot of lessons along the way

My first guns were a Ruger 10/22, a Remington 1100, A Rem 788 in 22-250, and a S&W 6" 686. All were stolen but the 10/22 which was in my mother's pantry and the 788 which got dropped in the yard. I grew up with those guns. Did my first hunting with those guns. Dad had promised to give them to me when I got my first house. So, when I got my first house I set out the replace them. The first "replacement" gun I got was a 4" GP100. I got it by doing computer repair work for the local pawn shop and was paid store credit. It shot good and it carried well. I sold it. Not even at a great price. I wanted it back as soon as the money changed hands.

When my wife got cancer, that changed a lot of things. Thankfully Bob Denning got a hold of my old .455 Alaskan Express, and recognized it was mine.( Thank you, Bob) One of my favorite go to guns, got a few FA83’s back, had Gary work one over to make it Africa Legal.

Traded off an Ingliss Hi-power for a skillsaw.

SS, with Bodley grips and a 8” barrel. Scoped and had an extra 454 cylinder. I shot a couple of 6” groups with it at 200 yard, off the bench. They where really 4” 4 shot groups with one flier. Just luck and a good day on my part. Was using a 2x Leupold, at 200 yards the cross hairs covered the 8” black circle I was shooting at. Had to move my eye up and down and left and right to get the same spacing of the cross hairs and the target. But in reality that probably really helped with the parallax. Anyway traded the gun for a custom Krag in 405 Winchester. Still have the Krag

Had it rebarrelled to 7mm-08 By a fella named J.H. Graves in Houston, Tx. That pistol was boring to shoot, Shot smaller groups than any rifle i had ever shot.. Shot lots of ground squirrels with it as a 221 Fireball too.
Traded it for a 1911. Want another XP100 still.

Gary builds one hell of a XP100 got one of his in
