Should I secure the muzzle brake?

I've seen some suggesting use nothing at all and just hand tighten after every few shots, others suggest Rocksett and others say Loctite.

It is for a hunting rifle (if that makes a difference for the application) - Weatherby Vanguard in .308.

"Blue" Lock-tire can be removed but the "red"

requires some heat, "green" is about there forever, chemical welding. It's used to retain cylinder liners in engine blocks. I think Gary may use the "red", not sure. I think it takes 600 deg. F. to remove it.

I recommend red Lok Tite. Chances are you will never

need to remove it so put it on with the red. We use red on all our muzzle brakes and they very seldom vibrate loose.

I use anti-seize and a crush washer so that I can index it.

are built the way a brake should be built with the holes all the way around. A half way brake only defeats about half of what a brake should. Ours take out a minimum of 50% of the recoil and that is how a brake should work.
