The Jeep Cherokee blew a brake line

Of course I should expect it for a 20 year old vehicle but it happened on a rainy Thursday night and kind of scared the crap out of me.

Soooo. My friend gave me a ride home that night and we chatted. I have Mom's Nissan Rogue and the Jeep Cherokee. He suggested selling both and getting a new or newer small pick up truck.

Hmm. The light bulb kind of came on at that point.

I am a hunter and outdoorsman. Although the Nissan SUV is nice to commute it is not a hunter's vehicle, so to speak. The Cherokee is nice but in a way a small to mid sized pick up would be better.

I don't really want a full sized vehicle because I do not have a business to haul items and tools. Nor do I tow a camper , boat or ATV/snowmobile trailer like some of my other friends do. But as I have said a nice pick up would be ideal. I owned a few in my life and never had a problem. I liked the idea of being able to haul items like a nice deer or some camping equipment in a container. ( Friends keep telling me my tent camping isn't really camping i.e. huge trailer with sat TV)

So I am inclined to look at something along the lines of a GMC Canyon/Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Maybe the new Ranger.

I would like some opinions if you do not mind? Thanks
