Howdah 45 ACP - Found some very needed bullets today...
Or very wanted, according to how you look at it.
Missouri Bullets makes a special bullet for the 460 Rowland. It's cast at Brn 20 and coated for high velocity.
I acquired a few and found them ideal in my 7.5" Howdah 45 ACP G2. The barrel has a long throat, so seating bullets out adds powder capacity, lowers pressure and eliminates any possibility of ammo making it way into an 1911, etc.
I use standard 45 ACP brass and Longshot Powder. I've easily reached 1400 fps with these 215 grn WFP Bullets. No signs of excess pressure and case life has been excellent.
This puts the old 45 ACP squarely in 41 Magnum territory. May have to see how this combination works on some annoying hogs.
