other shortages besides ammo
Dies are in short supply, especially for 9mm, 45 ACP, 308, 223/5.56, 30-06, 30-30, and a lot more. We normally have well over two hundred sets of dies in stock and are down to around 60 sets. This is not counting dies for our custom cartridges.
Powder is getting scarce, some primers like small rifle and small pistol are not to be had at normal prices. Bullets have been picked over a few times and many are getting scarce.
Shotguns are nearly as hard to find as AR-15s. As is buckshot in all gauges.
Surprisingly 22 LR and 22 Magnum are not gone yet. They are getting picked over but in this shortage it is centerfire ammo that is going as quick as it comes in.
Another thing that is unusual is our hunting seasons. I have had quite a few guys tell me they are going to skip the seasons this year, even though they got some hard to get tags for deer and elk. Hunting ammo hasn't been going out the door as in past years. I don't remember selling even one box of a belted magnum this year whereas by this time in a normal year we would be getting short on several calibers.
2020 is going to be known as a rough year for conservatives and especially for gun folks. And 2021 may well be even worse as the liberals get into power. People coming in our gun shop are pissed off at the way this election has been run and how thousands of ballots, such as our military ballots, have disappeared. Once the final tally is done, if Trump is declared the loser, the shit may hit the fan. The best we can do is be prepared and carry a gun (or two) with us at all times.
God bless America
