I know he was from Wabash, IN and seemed to specialize in converting centerfire guns into .22 rimfire. Does anyone have other information? I don't think I've ever read much of him. His work seems uniquely distinctive.

I have no clue.

but I've seen a couple of his guns come up for sale over the years. Seems he'd take a Colt SAA and convert it to 22lr with IIRC milled ribbed barrels and target sights. I can't recall his other touches except to say you'd look at one of his guns and appreciate his skill as a machinist.

i found this looks like he did 22rf converanssions

I have seen some of his guns on occasion and have always been intrigued by the quality and distinctive style. Every time I run across one I'm likely to mention it here. Thanks for the link with info, it is very sparse. Mr. Crull died in 1972.

Found one for sale

It's a good one on the SAA, not the special one off Thunderers. Well executed and a shootable investment. I figure it will actually fetch $1200-1500.

The link....

I met Alonzo in 1968 at Schutz Brothers Gunshop in North Manchester, Indiana. I worked there as a salesperson.
I have two of Alonso's 22 revolvers. They are very well built and remind me when cocking them of a Colt Python. The revolvers are not a toy as suggested by Reeder!
